Rounding the “square”

They say as we grow older having a good social network keeps us healthy.  Friends certainly keep life richer.

We caught US 17 north of Fredericksburg,VA up to I-81 in order to by-pass Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York.

Getting to Harrisburg, we were unable to see one friend because he had the flu but we did stop in at a hospital to visit a  friend of Ray’s from Milton Hershey  days.

Twenty-five years ago, Alie and Ray, Len and Joan, Bob and Judy and Neville and Linda joined a group to learn to square dance.  We formed a unique friendship and often look back to “years of good times” although it was actually only eight months before Linda and Neville moved to California.  In January, Len and Joan came to Florida and visited us.  In April, Linda and her husband Dave (Neville passed on in the ’90s) came to visit.  And now we were able to see Bob and Judy in northeast Pennsylvania — we have seen the entire square this year!

We assume you are a friend reading this.  Thanks for your friendship.

We continue heading toward Canada on Interstates but suspect we will soon revert to back roads.   It is in our DNA.

About ralietravels

Ray and Alie (Ralie) are a retired couple who love to travel. Even during our working years, we squeezed a trip in whenever we could, often when we had to stretch the budget to do so. We have been fortunate to vacation in all 50 states, all the provinces of Canada and one territory and a little more than 50 countries. We like to drive, but we particularly love to travel back roads to find unusual sights, people, and experiences.
