Christmas Travel Memories:  Part 2, Around the World

International Tree, 2015

International Tree, 2015

This is the second trip down memory lane for Alie and I.

In a 2011 post, I wrote about our custom to decorate our Christmas tree with souvenir ornaments: the ornaments bring back fond memories when we hang them on the tree, again when we take them down in January, and for the rest of the year, they don’t have to be dusted.  []

Some ornaments are labeled.  Some are local hand-crafts.  When nothing else was available, some were created from key chains.  We think all were created in the country where they were purchased.

Last week’s post, part 1, was a sample of ornaments collected on trips around the United States.  Today, in part 2, we sample our memories from international trips.

About ralietravels

Ray and Alie (Ralie) are a retired couple who love to travel. Even during our working years, we squeezed a trip in whenever we could, often when we had to stretch the budget to do so. We have been fortunate to vacation in all 50 states, all the provinces of Canada and one territory and a little more than 50 countries. We like to drive, but we particularly love to travel back roads to find unusual sights, people, and experiences.

  1. We do the same thing; however, we can’t always remember where we’ve bought the ornaments. You are so organized!!! Merry Christmas!
